Steel slag, boiler water and hot-rolled steel need to be transported with the help of special equipment. Heavy duty transport vehicles will be used for the transportation of products in some large steel enterprises. The heavy-duty transport vehicles commonly used in steel plants mainly include slag pot hauler, converter furnace transfer cars, flat cars, frame transport vehicles, power module vehicles and hydraulic trailers.

(1) Slag Pot Hauler
Slag pot hauler transportation has the characteristics of less investment, flexibility and high availability, and is most widely used in steel plants.

Converter furnace transfer car is mainly used for the transportation and storage of molten iron, which has the characteristics of energy saving and heat preservation. It can also replace the iron mixer and molten iron tank car to complete the desulfurization, dephosphorization and other processes of molten iron.

(3) Flatbed car
Flatbed vehicles, also known as power flatbed transporters, have the characteristics of strong bearing capacity, flexibility and high reliability. They are mostly used for the transportation of large objects. The speed is generally 5-15km/h. Vehicles often use independent suspension and electro-hydraulic composite multi-mode steering, which can realize any angle steering within the range of 110 ° to 140 °. The flatbed car has good control performance and powerful modular function. The advantage of large single vehicle load is that at present, the load is mostly concentrated in 50-1000 tons. For example, the load tonnage of a single heavy flat-panel transport vehicle of kamag company has exceeded 1300T, with 12 axles and 192 tires, and the body is 32m long and 10m wide.

(4) Frame transport vehicle
Frame transporter is a kind of multi-purpose vehicle commonly used in steel plants. It has the characteristics of compact structure, large bearing capacity, small turning radius, flexibility and so on. It is mostly used for the transfer of steel slag, molten steel and billets. The frame transport vehicle is the function expansion of the flat car. Compared with the flat car, the transport tonnage of the frame transport vehicle is not high, but the transport speed is relatively fast, mostly 20-30km/h. Therefore, the frame transport vehicle mostly adopts the pull rod steering, which can realize the steering within the range of 55 ° to 60 °. The frame transport vehicle is mostly used to transport the hot-rolled billets in the steel plant, which often needs to be used in combination with the frame, and the frame also needs to be padded with a layer of refractory material, It can be used for many purposes

(5) Power module car
The power module car is used for the transportation of oversized workpieces. It takes a single transportation module as a unit, and the bearing capacity of each unit can reach 200 tons. Through mechanical connection and electrical control, it can be spliced into a large tonnage transportation car. The height of the module is low and the structure is compact. Usually, there is no cab, and the walking is controlled by the remote control.

(6) Hydraulic Trailer
The hydraulic trailer is a unpowered multi axis flat car. Except that it does not have self-function, the rest of the structure is basically similar to the frame transport vehicle. It can be connected with different traction heads. The trailer is usually a hydraulic gooseneck with adjustable height, which improves the flexibility of steel slag transportation.
Torpedo tank car is mainly used for the transportation and storage of molten iron, which has the characteristics of energy saving and heat preservation.
